Activities
In May 2008, Optimiza sponsored the 1st National Technology Parade at the
University of Jordan, held on the 13th and 14th of May on campus. This was
done to support the Faculty of Engineering/Computer Engineering Department
students. Through this collaboration, Optimiza aimed at strengthening its
ties with a well-established educational institution, and recognize and
offer opportunities to exceptional graduates.
Optimiza's participation in this special event included supporting a
graduation project on "Arabic Optical Character Recognition (OCR)", whereby
it provided students from both the University of Jordan and Jordan
University of Science and Technology with two workstations and allocated a
coordinator for this project with high-level support.
During the parade, Optimiza interacted with students, both graduates and
undergraduates on its booth. The objective was to offer these students
advice to enhance their future plans, and collect CVs from graduates wishing
to join its team. Also, Optimiza led a session, where it presented its
overall solutions and services and some of its success stories. Moreover, a
special lecture was presented to the students on Optimiza's Oracle Business
Intelligence and Data Warehousing.
On a similar note, Optimiza has taken part in three other job fairs in May
2008. These included: The American University of Beirut’s job fair held on
May 9th, Princess Sumaya University for Technology’s job fair, and Jordan
University of Science and Technology’s job fair held on the 18th and 19th of
May.
Partnerships
Madrasati, brings together public, private and non-profit partners in an
exciting, new initiative to renovate public schools in urgent need of
repair. Led by Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah, Madrasati will enrich
learning environments, and enhance opportunities for children in 500 schools
across Jordan. In phase I of the initiative, 100 schools in central Jordan
(Amman and Zarqa) will be assisted.
The "Madrasati" initiative is an innovative venture to enable public schools
in Jordan to provide a better learning environment for their students by
mobilizing key partners to address the urgent infrastructure repairs,
student friendliness and safety of the school, and to provide schools with
access to quality learning and teaching tools.
Through Madrasati, corporations can play an important role in support of
these public schools in Jordan. As institutions with expertise in all
aspects of management, corporations can make a difference by sharing their
experience, resources and time.
This is not only an opportunity to show goodwill. Most corporations will
also find it an opportunity to learn from being part of addressing new
challenges and building stronger ties between their employees and the
communities they operate in.
Within this context, Optimiza has officially adopted “Al-Yarmook School for
boys”, located in Sweileh. Our support for the school will be for a minimum
of five years, during which Optimiza will be contributing financially and
in-kind to the:
- Renovation and infrastructure maintenance according to an assessment
that was done for the school’s physical structure.
- Support in the form of needed development, supplement programs,
training, and special activities to be conducted with and for the students.
